BREAKING NEWS: Freddie Freeman activated and starting 3B after 7 weeks from broken wrist
After being hit in the wrist by a inside fastball on May 17th against the Blue Jays and being projected to be out of the lineup for 10 weeks, all of Braves Country went on a scramble in hopes of finding his replacement. Braves Executive, John Coppolella, once again worked his magic and traded for Cardinal’s Matt Adams and boy did he work out well!
Adams fit right into the lineup and helped keep the 1B production up. Freddie now a bystander for 10 weeks, saw how well Adams was swinging the bat, and decided to move to 3B in order to keep Adams’ bat in the lineup.
There were many analysts that claimed that it was a bad career choice but Freddie had a different plan! Being the team captain he is, Freddie sacrificed his position to learn a new one in order to keep the team in contention.
Tonight Freddie makes his 1st career start at 3B against the Astros at home, just shy of 3 weeks earlier than projected!
