Keys to Victory for the Georgia Bulldogs vs No. 24 Notre Dame
In one of the most sought after tickets to purchase during the 2017 College Football season, the Georgia Bulldogs travel to South Bend, Indiana to face the No. 24 Notre Dame Saturday night at 7:30pm. 3rd party sellers have shown ticket sales to have an average of $1,100 per entry, which extremely trumps last week’s Florida State vs Alabama game.
After seeing how the Bulldogs preformed last week against Appalachian State, I fully expect a heavy dose of the run game behind seniors, Nick Chubb and Sony Michel. Vegas as of Saturday morning, have the Bulldogs as a 6.5 point underdog. After what the nation saw happen to Jacob Eason, many believe that Notre Dame will win this game in a back and forth contest.
Personally I don’t see much of a drop off from Jacob Eason to freshmen Jake Fromm, maybe I’m biased but I saw a young kid not afraid to command a huddle and fling the ball around the field when he needed to keep the defense honest.
A few keys to victory for the Bulldogs:
- Start with a heavy run game and don’t let up. As many people saw last week, The Bulldogs OL had a difficult time opening up holes for the run game in the 1st few series but over time, enforced their will, which allowed Chubb and Michel to slowly rack up valuable yards and end drives with TD’s.
- Draw up some easy passing plays in the beginning to help get Fromm comfortable and into a rhythm. As the game goes on, he will become more accurate and hit his big TE’s when put in 3rd and long situations.
- The Defense will decide the game! I hate to say it, since everyone loves the Bulldogs offense, but this is a grown man game and in the past our defense has not played to their potential allowing them to lose multiple big time games. This year’s defense is stacked and ready to ball out. With what many see as one of the best Defensive Lines in the nation, look for Lorenzo Carter and Davin Bellamy to attack off the edge and disrupt the QB. After a dominant performance last week, look for the secondary to hustle and attack the ball. If they are able to do that they will easily win this game.
Prediction: If the Bulldogs offense comes out guns blazing, and the defense causes punts and turnovers, I see the Bulldogs winning this one, Georgia 27 Notre Dame 17
