Josef Martinez named MLS Player of the Week
After a great week of play for Atlanta United, Josef Martinez has been named MLS Player of the Week!
To start the week, Martinez scored a goal against FC Dallas that led to a 3-0 victory for ATL. 3 days later, Martinez singlehandedly beat the New England Revolution with a hat trick, that gave them a 7-0 victory after 2 Revolution players were given red cards early on in the match.
But the performance that sealed Player of the Week, was on a Saturday afternoon in a MLS Attendance Record Match vs Orlando City. After going down 1-0 early in the match, Martinez took over the match and scored his 2nd hat trick of the week in back-to-back matches! The match ended a 3-3 tie.
With this great week of play, Martinez has now 3 hat tricks, and 16 goals in 14 matches.
