Jacob Eason Update #2 9/25/17
3 weeks after being taken out of the season opener against Appalachian State with a left sprained knee, it’s looking like Jacob Eason is getting closer and closer to returning to the field.
In a Monday Noon Press Conference, Coach Smart was able to give the fans and media the long awaited update on Jacob after announcing a week ago that Jacob was allowed to throw the ball and suit up for practice. After being asked, “Is there a possibility that Jacob could see some playing time because of the crowd noise and that he’s played in visiting SEC stadiums before?”
Smart responded with a “We don’t know, Its a possibility.” After dressing him on Saturday, we will do the same thing and see where he is this week. He’s had the past 3 days off so we will see how he does today.
With this great news, Jacob may possibly get on the field playing against Tennessee if he is medically cleared by the Training Staff.
Coach Smart has said multiple times that when Eason returns, the decision of who to start will be based off of practice. He is a strong believer in if you perform well in practice that you will earn playing time. With that being said, be on the lookout for Eason to possibly get some playing time vs Tennessee or Vanderbilt the following week.
Georgia takes on Tennessee in Knoxville this Saturday. Game is set for kickoff at 3:30pm
