Ender Inciarte Reaches 200 Hit Season Milestone
In a 2015 trade that send Shelby Miller to the Diamondbacks, the Braves acquired No. 1 pick Dansby Swanson and center-fielder, Ender Inciarte. Inciarte being the extra player the Braves needed in order to finalize the deal, the Braves were able to get a player who wasn’t very well known and mold him into an All Star. In 2016, after making multiple 5 star catches, he was awarded his 1st Gold Glove. As this was a surprising feat for Ender, he prided himself on getting better every year.
Coming into the 2017 season, many fans and front office executives believed that Dansby Swanson would be the leadoff man for the club. After some early struggles at the plate, the Braves made a lineup change and placed the speedy center-fielder in the leadoff spot. In the 1st game in SunTrust Park, Ender crushed a ball to right field for the 1st ever Home Run and RBI’s in the the Park’s history.
But the production didn’t stop there, all year Ender has been able to get on base and allow the big hitters to bring him home. In doing so, Ender has been able to improve on his 152 hit season he put up last year. After being named as an 2017 All Star, Ender was able to rack up hit after hit game after game. In the 156th game of 2017, against the New York Mets, Ender was able to connect on a 1-1 count and lined the ball to right field for a double to secure his 200th hit of 2017!
