#5 UGA vs Vanderbilt Week 6 Prediction
After complete destruction of University of Tennessee 1 week ago in Knoxville, the Dawgs now return to face UT’s “sister team” Vanderbilt University in Nashville.
With a noon start time, the Bulldogs have a few keys to victory:
Don’t overlook Vanderbilt:
After last year’s Homecoming loss to Vandy, the Bulldogs are now making sure they don’t look over Vandy this time around. After one of the biggest upsets of that week, Georgia was never able to recover and ended their season 3rd in the SEC East.
Contain Kyle Shurmur:
This will be Georgia’s first pure pocket passer they have faced all year. After winning against ND, App State, and Mississippi State(who all have dual threat QB’s), the Bulldogs will need their corners and LB to step up and break up passes.
Play Georgia Football:
Following back to back blow out victories, the defense has yet to allow a single TD, the Bulldogs need to make sure to not become complacent and actually attack the Vanderbilt offense.
Run the Football:
Georgia having one of the best running back cores in College Football, needs to come out of the gates and run the ball effectively. In doing so the Bulldogs will open up passing lanes for either Jake Fromm or Jacob Eason to pick apart the Vanderbilt Secondary.
Dial Up Multiple Play Action Passes:
Many critics have publicly said that Georgia is a one dimensional team and that they really don’t have a passing attack. With these allegations being tossed around, look for Georgia to make some noise in the passing game against Vanderbilt and Missouri to ramp up for Florida in 3 weeks.
If Georgia is able to accomplish these keys to victory, they should win easily.
Prediction: Georgia 41 Vanderbilt 10
