#4 UGA vs Missouri Week 7 Prediction
After a 30 year single game rushing record was broken last week against Vanderbilt with 423 total yards, the Bulldogs head back home for their Homecoming game against Missouri.
With a 7:30pm start time, the Bulldogs have a few keys to victory:
Don’t play soft on the Missouri WR’s:
Throughout the year, the Missouri Tigers have shown that they are very dangerous in the passing game with QB, Drew Lock averaging 294 passing yards per game. With their run game struggling, look for the Tigers to throw the ball between 35-45 times.
Contain Drew Lock:
With Drew Lock on a tear recently, with 13 TD’s to only 6 interceptions on the year, Watch Missouri’s OC, Josh Heupel, dial up multiple play action passes with hopes of Lock connecting with his WR’s for big plays.
Play Georgia Football:
Following back to back blow out victories, the defense continues to clog up the running lanes and not allowing the opposing offense to get anything going. By doing this they make the opposing offense to become one dimensional and make it almost impossible for them to stay in the game after the Bulldogs build big leads.
Run the Football:
After a record 423 rushing yards, the Bulldogs will continue to run the ball down the opposing defenses throat until they can show they can stop the run. In doing so the Bulldogs will open up passing lanes for Jake Fromm to connect on the play action passes.
Dial Up Multiple Play Action Passes:
With a bye week 1 week away, look for OC Jim Chaney to call some plays to get some more of the passing attack to be evident. With the Florida Gators being the game out of the bye week on October 28th, the Bulldogs need to get the passing game more involved to keep the defense honest.
If Georgia is able to accomplish these keys to victory, they should win easily.
