Atlanta United looking to set another attendance record and a round 1 playoff victory, host the #5 seed Columbus Crew on Thursday night at 7pm.

With Atlanta United exceeding all expectations is their inaugural season, will look to bring the City of Atlanta some excitement with a victory on Thursday. In their first year as a club, Atlanta United made the spotlight almost instantly after selling out their first home matches in Georgia Tech’s Bobby Dodd Stadium until Mercedes Benz Stadium was completed. Not only did they make the headlines week in and week out, they were holding strong in the standings behind lead scorer Josef Martinez who at one point led the MLS in goals.

Being in an unfamiliar situation, Atlanta United will rely on their home crowd and fans to help spark their club as the battle a very dangerous Columbus Crew. Columbus coming in on a hot streak where they haven’t lost a match since August 5th, will look to end Atlanta United’s season with a victory.

With Josef Martinez consistently finding the back of the net, ATL will look to him to keep the club ahead. With Miguel Almiron and Tito Villalba both playing good soccer, look for them to feed the ball to the middle of the field and into Josef’s wheelhouse.

Atlanta United being very dangerous at home, have only lost 1 match at home in the past 14. With that kind of momentum on their side, look for them to pressure Columbus early and often as they push towards the club’s first playoff victory.
