According to multiple credible sources via twitter, the Atlanta Braves have found their new GM. In doing so they will add Alex Anthopoulos to the front office and he will take over the vacant spot. With an official announcement thought to happen this week, look for a press conference in the next few days!
Anthopoulos started off as a scouting coordinator in the Blue Jays organization and continued to move up in ranks from 2003-2015. In 2005, he was promoted to general manager where he made both strategical and financial trades that helped propel the Blue Jays to the position they are in now. In his final year with the organization (2015) he was named Executive of the Year and the next year he took a job with the Los Angeles Dodgers as the vice-president of baseball operations and a year later has decided to take up the Braves on their offer!
With Anthopoulos’ knowledge and trading ability, Braves Country can count on seeing the Braves making moves on and off the field that will both excite and help the ball club moving forward!
