Following a shocking and disappointing blowout loss to #10 Auburn on Saturday, the Bulldogs headed back to Athens to prepare to battle Kentucky on November 18th. With this being the last home game for the seniors, they will look to close out their career in Sanford Stadium with a home win.

On Monday afternoon Kirby held his weekly press conference and opened it up by giving praise to Kentucky and their offensive leaders in QB Steven Johnson and RB Benny Snell Jr. He did state that Kentucky runs the ball like Auburn but shows it a different way and that the Kentucky defense plays the same style of defense as the Bulldogs.

When asked, “How did the team respond to Saturday’s loss?” Kirby responded with, “these guys came in here with a good attitude yesterday ready to work, good spirits, leaders talking and communicating. I got to be around the players and eat with them yesterday. These players they will respond the right way. Our focus is on Kentucky now.”

Kirby was also asked if he is concerned about the team’s tackling and he responded with, “I have been concerned about our tackling all year, we lost a lot of one-on-one situations on Saturday.”

Another tough question asked was “how this loss could benefit the team.” Kirby said,” I think you refocus, you recenter and focus on the things you did right and the things you did wrong and improve on things you messed up.”

To close it out, Kirby was asked “what has the senior class means to Georgia” and being a former player, he responded with, “I know what that last home game in Sanford Stadium means. It’s the one you remember the most. These guys have meant a lot to this program, meant a lot to me personally, meant a lot to the staff, and they’ve meant a lot to this university.  I think we all owe it to them, as a fan base and as a coaching staff and as a team, to make sure that we give them our best effort.”

The Georgia Bulldogs will face the Kentucky Wildcats in Sanford Stadium at 3:30pm.
