Coming off a heartbreaking loss to New Orleans on Monday where the Hawks (2-12) battled and almost won in the final seconds, are now riding a 4 game losing streak and are poised to face the Sacramento Kings (3-10) on Wednesday night at 7:30pm.

With a 7:30pm tip off, the Hawks turned to their big men to make an impact early. In doing so, Dewayne Dedmon and John Collins solidified the interior that opened up the Hawks 3 point shooting.  To start of the game the Hawks hit 8 consecutive shots and never looked back. After jumping out to a 24-16 lead after the 1st quarter, they began rolling as the game continued. While putting on a show in the 2nd half, the Hawks outscored the Kings 40 to 19 and took a 64-35 lead into half time.

Coming out of halftime, the Kings had no response for the offensive rebounds Dedmon and Collins were getting and the lead just continued to grow. With Dedmon leading the way with a 20 point 14 rebound double-double, it was time to take out the starters and let the young guys get some playing time. At the end of the 3rd quarter the Hawks led 92-61.

With the 4th quarter underway, the game was basically put away and John Collins closed out the game with 3 consecutive pick and roll layups that helped him stack his stat line. He ultimately would finish with 14 points and 8 rebounds.

Not only were Dedmon and Collins the big story line, but also the fact that 8 out the 11 players on the active roster all scored in double digits. With the wealth being shared around, the Hawks looked dangerous and are beginning to gel as a unit. Screen Shot 2017-11-15 at 9.57.18 PMNotable Performances:

The Hawks now will face the red hot Boston Celtics on Saturday November 18th at 7:30pm.
