Braves acquire RHP Shane Carle from Pirates
By.Andrew Rodberg
With pitchers and catchers reporting for Spring Training in 4 weeks, the Braves continue to make small moves. On Wednesday night, the Braves announced that they had acquired Shane Carle. In exchange the Braves will give up a player named at a later time or cash considerations.
The 26 year old RHP, made his debut last year for the Colorado Rockies and held a 6.75 ERA. He was sent back down AAA and later released. The Pittsburgh Pirates quickly claimed Carle off of waivers and added him to their roster.
Carle finished up the season in AAA with a 4.10 ERA and 367 strikeouts in 527 1/3 innings. Due to the latest moves the Pirates have made the Braves pounced on the opportunity to get yet another young arm inside the organization.
