Following a stellar spring training, Braves #1 prospect, Ronald Acuna was sent down to AAA to start the year. In doing so the Braves were able to add another year of service to Acuna’s contract.
As many Braves fans patiently waited for Acuna’s call-up, it became evident that the organization was going to wait until his play improved. After a slow start in AAA, Acuna has got back to form and in the past 10 games has a .300 batting average. With the Braves bats beginning to struggle on their 10 game road trip, they have officially decided to call up Acuna with hopes of helping the batting order.
The Braves the past 2 days have gone cold both offensively and defensively as they are unable to make contact with pitches and are committing errors almost every game. With a struggling bullpen, which is giving up an MLB leading number of walks, the Braves hope this call-up can help turn this losing streak around.
