Following a stellar career at Georgia where Roquan racked up a total of 146 tackles in 38 games, he now looks ahead to his future in the NFL. After announcing that he was going to forego his senior season and declare for the 2018 NFL Draft, many became convinced that Roquan would be an automatic Top 10 pick in the Draft.
After improving at an alarming rate from his sophomore to junior season, Roquan lead the SEC in solo tackles with 85 and earned himself the 2017 SEC Defensive Player of the Year Award and also the 2017 Dick Butkus Award for the best LB in the Nation.
Sitting at 6-1 225 lbs, Roquan looks to be the next top 10 LB picked in the Draft since Leonard Floyd was drafted #9 by the Chicago Bears. With Roquan’s ability to run from sideline to sideline and his closing speed that is at the focal point in his game, he will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.
With the #8 pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected LB out of UGA Roquan Smith!
