Fresh off his Rose Bowl MVP performance, Sony Michel looked ahead to the NFL Draft. With his 1-2 punch with Nick Chubb, Sony was able to rack up 3,638 yards on 591 carries and 33 TD’s.
Coming on strong in his senior year, Sony was able to increase his production on the field. With his ability to move from side to side and then propel downfield, Sony was able to be that bolt of lighting to compliment his counter-part Nick Chubb’s rushing attack.
Sony exploded on the National stage in the Rose Bowl when he single-handedly brought the Dawgs back vs Oklahoma with 11 rushes for 181 yards and 3 TD’s. With the seniors deciding to return for their final season, they helped lead the Dawgs to the National Championship, a feat that hadn’t happened since 1980.
With many NFL scouts drooling over this potential, Sony was able to propel up the draft boards and was ultimately drafted in the 1st round!
With the #31st pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the New England Patriots selected RB out of UGA Sony Michel!
