After taking a tumble in a 6-1 contest against Boston yesterday afternoon, Acuña suffered a knee injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the game.
Following the initial tests, it was determined that Acuña was taken out for lower back and knee pain but more tests were soon to come.
With the Braves 6 game road-trip complete, they returned home on Monday for a double-header against the Mets.
With doctors and fans convinced of what looked to be a serious knee injury, the Braves announced on their official Twitter that Acuña had in fact injured his ACL with a mild sprain and would be placed on the 10 day DL.
With this news finally coming out, the Braves now look to Preston Tucker to fill the void until Acuña can get healthy and rejoin the ball-club.
The Braves remain .5 ahead in the NL East with a big division home stand coming up this week.
