Now less than two weeks out from the start of College Football, fans around the world awaited the new rankings that were announced on Monday at noon. With the announcement being posted on the AP top 25 Twitter account, the Georgia Bulldogs were placed in the #3 spot. Coming off their best year since 1980, where the Bulldogs won the National Championship, they now look to build on their momentum as they strive to be one of the best College Football teams in the Nation.
After losing Sony Michel, Nick Chubb, Lorenzo Carter, Roquan Smith, and Davin Bellamy, a new breed of Bulldogs must step up and show Dawg Nation what they’re made of. With many opposing teams circling their match-up with the Dawgs, they now have huge targets on their back. With sophomores, QB Jake Fromm, RB D’Andre Swift, and senior WR Terry Godwin returning, they will look to lead their team on a “Redemption Tour.”
With the Bulldogs ranked so well, Kirby Smart and the coaching staff must keep the team focused and numb to the outside noise as they refuse to listen to the so called “rat poison.”
In the next published article, we will focus on what we should expect from each offensive player individually as the season gets underway. As for what lies ahead, the Dawgs stay home and welcome the Austin Peay Governors to Athens as they open up the newly renovated Sanford Stadium JumboTron and locker-room. With 92,000 fans projected to be in attendance, you know Athens, Georgia is the place to be on September 1st at 3:30pm.
As Dawg Nation says, Go Dawgs Sic’Em!! Woof Woof Woof!!
