After defeating their week four opponent, Missouri, 43-29, the Dawgs return home to the beloved Sanford Stadium, to take on the Tennessee Volunteers. With a 3:30pm kickoff, the Dawgs will look to improve to 3-0 in the conference and start their second straight year 5-0. This matchup on paper looks to be one-sided but there are a few keys to victory for the Dawgs.
Come Out Swinging:
After a somewhat difficult game last week, the Dawgs go into Saturday as a 31 point favorite. With everyone looking for the Dawgs to have their way with the Volunteers, they must come out and score on their first possession. This year they have done a pretty good job of getting on the board early and often but it needs to continue week in and week out.
Get to the QB:
With Tennessee starting QB, Jarrett Guarantano coming off a knee injury last week, the Dawgs need to attack the Tennessee OL and get to the QB. This game could get ugly really quick if they knock Guarantano out. With the backup QB, Keller Chryst ready to step in at any time, the Dawgs can stack the box and stop the run.
Play Georgia Football:
With the run game having some trouble last week, they need to return to Georgia Football and feed the 4 RB’s they have on the roster. With a lot of these teams not seeing the quality of backs that Georgia has, defenses will stack the box and allow Jake Fromm to throw the ball in single coverage. The play action pass will become very evident as the game progresses and the big plays occur frequently.
Don’t Let Up:
With UGA a 31 point favorite, everyone knows this score could be lopsided early, but the Dawgs must remain hungry and continue to run up the score as Tennessee is an SEC opponent and won’t go down without a fight.
Prediction: Georgia 45 Tennessee 17
