After defeating their week five opponent, Tennessee, 38-12, the Dawgs stay home at the beloved Sanford Stadium, to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores. With a 7:30pm kickoff, the Dawgs will look to improve to 4-0 in the conference and start their second straight year 6-0. This matchup on paper looks to be one-sided but there are a few keys to victory for the Dawgs.

Come Out Swinging:

After a lot of people trying to start a QB controversy following a good showing last week for Justin Fields, its in Coach Smart’s hands as to if we will see Fields more this week. The Dawgs go into Saturday as a 25.5 point favorite. With everyone looking for the Dawgs to have their way, they must come out and get their running game going as they have had difficulty running the ball in the beginning of games. This year they have done a pretty good job of getting on the board early and often but it needs to continue week in and week out.

Get to the QB:

With Vanderbilt giving Notre Dame some trouble in the beginning of the year, the Dawgs must contain Shurmur and not allow him to connect with long passes down the field. With Vanderbilt defeating the Dawgs in Sanford Stadium in 2016, the Dawgs must remain confident but not beat themselves with dumb penalties.

Don’t Let Up:

With UGA a 25.5 point favorite, the Dawgs will have a comfortable lead for most the game. They must continue to force the ball through the air as they are now only one week away from a big time showdown with the LSU Tigers.

Feed off of the Crowd:

With this being the first night game for the Dawgs, you best believe that Dawg Nation will be in full force ready to make it very difficult for Vanderbilt with their noise and ability to shake a visiting team.

Prediction: Georgia 44 Vanderbilt 13
