Dawgs move up to #7 in AP Poll 10/21/18
As week #8 got underway, there was a sense of urgency for the Georgia Bulldogs as they prepare for the showdown with the Florida Gators in Jacksonville next Saturday. In doing so, the Dawgs witnessed quite a bit of mayhem unfolding at the top of the rankings. Previous #1 Alabama took on Tennessee and once again won big 58-21, #2 Ohio State was UPSET by unranked Purdue 49-20, #3 Clemson defeated #16 NC State 41-7. #4 Notre Dame had a bye week and #5 LSU had difficulty putting away #22 Mississippi State 19-3.
With the Bulldogs on a bye week, the rankings changed drastically as Ohio State lost. At 2:00pm, the AP poll announced the week #9 rankings and UGA moved up a spot!
The biggest drops were:
Ohio State went from #2 to #11
Oregon went from #12 to #19
NC State went from #16 to #22
The biggest improvements were:
Washington State went from #25 to #14
Kentucky went from #14 to #12
Florida went from #11 to #9
UGA was able to move up a spot with Ohio State taking a loss and moved to #7
