Now three weeks into 2019 Spring Training, Braves prospect, Cristian Pache has been tearing up opposing pitching. Following yet another home-run in back-to-back games, Pache now holds a .421 BA and has 1 stolen base. With the OF position pretty set, Pache is making a name for himself while turning heads in the process.
Pache, a young 20 year old jumped on the scene in 2018 in the Braves Futures Game, when he took Sean Newcomb to the yard not once but twice in the same game. In 2018, Pache split his season with the Florida Fire Frogs and Mississippi Braves and was very productive.
Pache, a native of the Dominican Republic, is close with Braves stars: Ronald Acuña and Ozzie Albies and hopes to join them in the near future. As for now, Pache must continue to stay focused and put up good at bats and the rest will follow.
As Spring Training comes to an end and Opening Day gets closer, Pache needs to continue to impress and everything else will fall into place. With Braves veteran, Adam Duvall struggling at the plate, one might say his job could be up for grabs if he doesn’t figure it out quickly. Could the position go to Pedro Florimon? Cristian Pache? Only time will tell!
Whether or not Pache makes the Opening Day roster, one thing is for certain; the Braves future is surely bright.
