ATHENS, GA— Following a devastating loss to LSU last night in the SEC Championship, the Dawgs now awaited their fate as they fell to 11-2 and out of the CFP conversation.
Following an upset loss to South Carolina earlier this season, the Dawgs never could recover offensively as the unit as a whole looked confused and had no real sense of identity. Along with the struggling offense, the special teams followed suit… Rodrigo Blankenship, the UGA All-Time leading scorer and real consistent piece, began to miss field goals and the offense began to see no real success while driving down the field.
With the College Football Committee in place to “find” the best 4 teams in the Country, they have placed Georgia in the #5 spot. (ahead of Oregon)
With the Dawgs missing out on the CFP, they will head to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans and take on the Baylor Bears in a New Year’s Six Bowl on January 1st at 8:45pm on ESPN.
