ATHENS, GA— The last real battle for the tested Georgia Bulldogs, Texas A&M, coached by Jimbo Fisher (2nd year) looked to make some noise in 2019, but fell short throughout the season. The Dawgs the #4 team in the Nation, look to win their last SEC matchup and look ahead to a SEC Championship with either Alabama or LSU. With a 3:30 kickoff time, the Dawgs have a few keys for victory:

Start Fast/Build a Lead:

With this being the last home game for the seniors, the Dawgs need to put this game out of reach early and allow the game to be fun and enjoyable for the soon to be football alumni. In doing so, Fromm needs ti be allowed to sling the ball around. While watching Fromm the last 3 years, it is pretty evident that they limit what Jake is able to do under center. If they open up the playbook, this game will be over rather quickly and they will solidify their #4 spot in the Nation.

Feed off the Defense:

What more can we say week after week about this unit? They are fast, physical, effective in stopping the run and suffocate opposing offenses for 4 straight quarters. With that being said, the Dawgs are in the top 5 nationally in all major defensive statistics and that doesn’t look to change. After giving up their 1st rushing TD last week vs Auburn (QB scramble from 2 yards out), they will look to stop Texas A&M’s rushing attack led by freshman Isaiah Spiller. Spiller averaging 6 yards a carry, is somewhat deceiving as he has padded his stats against inferior opponents and has struggled against SEC teams. If the Dawgs are able to stuff the run game, they will force Kellen Mond to beat them through the air.

Run the Ball:

With a solid defense and a strong run game, the Dawgs need to control the clock and run the ball effectively. With Texas A&M giving up an average 132 yards rushing a game, it is a must that Georgia exceed that and put this game away with fundamentally sound football.  By relying on the defense week in and week out, it’s time for the offense to show up and help out this star studded defense get some rest in between drives. If they are able to put up more than 20 points, we don’t see a (struggling at times) Texas A&M keeping up offensively.

Prediction:

Georgia 27 Texas A&M 13
