UGA VS Tennessee Prediction
If this year’s game is as exciting as last year, we will have a good one on our hands. Georgia fans though aren’t wanting it to resemble anything like last year, as they lost on a Hail Mary pass that capitalized Georgia blowing a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter.
Most College Football games are full of drama and this one won’t be anything short of that. After playing the Volunteers at home last year, they return to Neyland Stadium in hopes of pushing their season record to 5-0.
Although the Bulldogs are on a roll, there is a sense of uncertainty after returning to Neyland for the 1st time since Nick Chubb suffered a season ending injury to UT in 2015. Tennessee knowing they are the inferior team this year, many frats have made disrespectful signs “Welcoming” Nick Chubb back to UT. Also is it really a coincidence that this game the Volunteers decided to wear their smokey grey jerseys, the same jersey they wore last time Chubb was in town? I think not…
With this Georgia team #7 in the Nation and coming off a HUGE victory against the hot Mississippi State Bulldogs with a 31-3 beatdown, look for them to be led by who other than RB Nick Chubb. Chubb not only is healthy but looks ready to punish a Tennessee team that has had some serious problems putting teams away and stopping the run.
With Georgia’s offense running on all cylinders behind freshman Jake Fromm and senior Nick Chubb and the defense playing lights out and stopping the run on the daily, look for this game to not be close. With the Tennessee offense not really having an identity, they rely completely on RB John Kelly who is averaging 5.6 yards a carry and has totaled up 6 TD. With the Georgia defense #27 in the nation in rushing yards allowed at 97.5 a game, they are built to stop the run.
With Tennessee’s defense giving up 242 yard per game and Georgia forcing 223 yards rushing per game, look for OC Jim Chaney to expose that inexperienced defensive line and put up some staggering numbers on the ground. Now that Jake Fromm has 3 starts and played in 4 games, winning one in a hostile environment, I foresee a big game from him. With Chaney dialing up the play-action pass at the right moments in the game, it will set up Jake Fromm for success.
Game Prediction: These teams aren’t anything like the year before, hence why I see Georgia scoring early and often and quieting the Tennessee fans making the game a neutral site. Just like the ND game, I expect a lot of Georgia fans will be making the trip to UT to support our #7 Georgia Bulldogs! Georgia 34 Tennessee 14
