Injuries, Eason and More in Noon Press Conference 10/2/17
As many of you know, the latest AP Poll following Week #5 was released Sunday afternoon with UGA officially jumping up 2 spots to #5 in the Nation. This feat was a product of a 41-0 shutout of Tennessee on Saturday. Although the final outcome was great, there are a few key injury concerns that UGA now faces this week ahead of a showdown with Vanderbilt on October 7th at 12:00 ET.
One of those injuries being Trenton Thompson, who looked to have injured his knee in the 2nd half, walked off on his own and was seen going to the locker room and didn’t return to the playing field. When asked about the injury on Monday, Kirby responded with, “Trenton has a sprained MCL and he is out for this game. After this game he will be week to week.”
Jacob Eason was a big question for reporters in the presser after seeing Eason get a few snaps in the blowout win over Tennessee. Coach Smart had this to say, ” Eason will compete this week just like last week and we will evaluate like every other position, he is much closer to being 100% and we will decide who will start based off of practice.”
With these players looking to return back to action, you best believe that Coach Smart will have the 2nd and 3rd string ready to go for if anyone isn’t cleared to play.
No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs take on the Vanderbilt Commodores at 12:00 noon in Nashville, Tennessee. The game can be seen on ESPN.
Look for UGA to have another statement game on their road to 6-0!
