#1 UGA vs South Carolina Week #10 Prediction

With everyone now jumping on the Georgia train following the team “trumping” Alabama in the 1st College Football Playoff Rankings. The Georgia Bulldogs now have to focus on a battle with a South Carolina team that holds a 6-2 record and is looking to upset the #1 team in the Nation on Saturday afternoon.

With the game taking place at 3:30pm in Athens, GA at Sanford Stadium, the Bulldogs have a few keys to victory:

Don’t Allow the Ranking to Dictate Your Performance:

This is the first time being in the #1 spot since 2008, the Bulldogs are now in unchartered territory, they must remain focused and humble as they now have a HUGE target on their backs. With “humility only a week away” the Bulldogs will look to show why they belong in the top spot.

Start Fast:

If you have watched any UGA games this year, it becomes evident that their game plan week in and week out is to start fast and put the opposing team in the hole early. In doing so, DC Mel Tucker is able to dial up pressure plays for his defense that help the momentum stay on UGA’s side.

Learn From Your Mistakes:

After the defense was lit up with long deep balls by Missouri, UGA’s CB’s must remain honest and focused on defending and not allowing the receivers to get behind them. If they are able to limit the amount of big plays, UGA will pull away and put this game away quite easily.

Run The Ball:

Why deviate from what has been working all year? With all the analysts and opposing players saying that UGA “can’t throw the ball”, remain set on the game plan and what has been working. With a steady dose of fresh running backs, UGA will continue to pound and wear out defenses.

Don’t Let Up:

With the CFP committee critiquing every ranked team’s performances, UGA must keep the “pedal to the metal” so to speak in order to continue to have the committee on their side. With UGA a 24 point favorite over South Carolina, the Bulldogs must run up the score if they are able to impress the committee.
