In a game where many thought rushing yards would be hard to come by, that became evident when neither team could get anything going on the ground and had to turn to the passing attack. This is when Atlanta began to really show that they were the superior team.

As the game got underway, protecting the QB became the #1 priority for both teams but Dallas was unable to do so when Atlanta’s DE Adrian Clayborn sacked Dak Prescott not once, not twice, but 3 times in the 1st half! With a 10-7 lead at the half, the Falcons were determined to make a statement in the 2nd half at they did just that!

After receiving the ball to start the 2nd half, the Falcons went right down the field and extended the lead to 10 points courtesy of a Justin Hardy TD reception. With the game getting out of reach for Dallas, the Atlanta pass rush didn’t slow down! Atlanta stacked the box and forced Dak to throw, which led to 3 more sacks for Adrian Clayborn who earned the franchise record with 6 sacks in a game. Not only is this an amazing feat within the franchise but it also is the most sacks in a game this year.

Aside from the defensive clinic Adrian Clayborn put on, Atlanta’s offense finally looked to be showing signs of life. With a 10 point lead, Matt Ryan began to lead the team down the field drive after drive and put up an additional 10 points courtesy of another TD and a FG by Matt Bryant that put Atlanta up 27-7.

With WR Taylor Gabriel and TE Austin Hooper coming alive this game the Falcons looked like their old self and got back to a game over .500 with a 5-4 record with a 27-7 victory!

Join me in Congratulating our very own Adrian Clayborn on his career high night!

The Falcons now head to CenturyLink Field on Monday night to face the 6-3 Seattle Seahawks at 8:30pm EST.
