UGA drops in third CFP Rankings of 2017 Season
Following a embarrassing and disappointing blowout 40-17 loss to #10 Auburn last Saturday, the Bulldogs awaited their fate as they were upended from their #1 ranking.
After holding the #1 spot 2 weeks in a row, the Bulldogs were completely outplayed on both sides of the ball and failed to mount a comeback. In doing so, the Bulldogs look to be out of the top 4 and now will rely on a SEC Championship win as their only way of getting into the 4-team playoff.
Not only did Georgia lose on Saturday but they took another blow to their résumé when their best win in #3 Notre Dame was completely manhandled by Miami and took their 2nd loss of the season. With Georgia now on the ropes, they must win out in order to have a shot at the National Championship.
At 7pm, the Playoff Committee announced the 3rd rankings of 2017. In doing so, UGA dropped out of the top 4 into the #7 spot.
The Bulldogs now look ahead to a matchup on Saturday with the Kentucky Wildcats at 3:30 in Sanford Stadium.
