Braves to remain in Orlando through 2019 Spring Training
By.Andrew Rodberg
This news comes as no surprise to Braves Country. After being the major MLB team to move to Orlando in 1997, the Braves have been looking for a new location to set up shop so to speak.
In January 2017, the Braves announced that they had found a new location in North Port, FL in order to make the daily trips down south less stressful and to eliminate long rides. In doing so, they join the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros as the other two MLB teams to recently relocate and build new stadiums.
On October 16th, 2017, the Braves broke ground on their new facility and the construction began! Now a few months in, the Braves have been notified that they may need additional time to build the new stadium (that was thought to be completed in time for the 2019 Spring Training).
With this news coming, the Braves formally announced that they have signed an extension to their contract with the Wide World of Sports in order to give construction more time to build the highly anticipated stadium.
